We believe that property management has more to do with the wonderful people that make their homes in our communities than the physical structures themselves. We strive to make every single apartment feel like a home, where our exceptional residents build memories, enjoy their lifestyles, and achieve their goals. We respect and value the trust that our residents place in us, and work hard to ensure that we exceed their expectations.
Our first Alex's Lemonade Stand
One of the many reasons why Berger Rental Communities is unique in the property management world is because we realize that property management has very little to do with apartments, and has everything to do with the amazing people who make their homes in these apartments. We are grateful to have the opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of our incredible residents. We are able to create positive experiences for our residents because the 80 people who manage the company and our communities do not work as 80 individuals, but as a team. While one person can make a big difference, we feel that our community of over 3,400 residents and employees can make an enormous difference. Because of this, in early September, we began a company wide fundraiser for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. As of today, we have raised $6,600 for the foundation!
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation emerged from a front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). At the age of 4, Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help fund a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has evolved into a national fundraising movement that has raised more than $25 million towards fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 80 research projects nationally. We are so proud to be part of a team who will have a direct impact on the research that will one day lead to a cure for childhood cancer.
On Saturday, October 24th, we hosted Alex’s Lemonade Stands in four locations to raise funds and awareness for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Despite the rain, our events were very successful! Our next Alex’s Lemonade Stand will take place on Monday, November 2nd from 9:00 am – 6:30 pm in State College. We will be in front of the Wal-Mart in the North Atherton shopping center.
